1. Information We Gather

We only get what you give us. Like when you sign up for our Friday emails, or you shoot us a message through the contact form. That’s it. We also look at anonymous stuff – like what tropes people search for, which pages get the most clicks – just so we know what kind of books to recommend more of. No names attached to that.

2. Your Reading Shelf & Local Storage

That “Want to Read” shelf you save? And the little quiz answers about what tropes you like? That lives on your browser, not on our servers. We use LocalStorage so it remembers you next time you visit. It never gets sent to ad networks, and you can clear it anytime from your browser settings. It’s yours.

3. Cookies and Affiliate Tracking

To keep this site running, we use affiliate links. When you click through to Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc. to buy a book, they set a small cookie to tell them you came from us. If you buy something, we might get a tiny commission – doesn’t cost you extra. You can turn off cookies in your browser if you want, though some features might get a little wonky.

4. How We Actually Use Your Info

We use your email to send you what you asked for – the newsletter, replies to your questions. We use the anonymous search data to make the site better. Like, if everyone is suddenly searching for “masked stalker romance,” we’ll make a list for it. We don’t build profiles on you. We don’t sell your data. Ever.

5. We Don’t Sell Your Stuff. Period.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal info. We don’t share your email with other companies. Your inbox is already messy enough. You can unsubscribe from our emails anytime – there’s a link at the bottom of every single one. One click, you’re out.

6. Third-Party Links & What We Can’t Control

Obviously we link to a lot of outside sites – Amazon, Goodreads, other retailers. Once you click away from DarkDesireBooks.com, their privacy rules apply, not ours. We can’t control what Amazon does with cookies, so just check their policy if you’re curious.

7. Kids, Questions, and Contact

This site is for adult readers, 18+. We don’t knowingly collect info from kids, and dark romance definitely isn’t for them.
